Day 8
Advanced Occlusion & Splint Therapy
Make better decisions when occlusion becomes complicated.
Not every restorative patient is straightforward.
Learn to recognise situations where occlusal factors, parafunction and temporomandibular disorders may influence your treatment decisions.
Develop a pragmatic approach to assessing occlusal risk, identifying patients who require further investigation and understanding the role and limitations of splint therapy.
By the end of the day, you will be able to:
Assess occlusal risk in more complex restorative cases.
Recognise clinical features associated with temporomandibular disorders.
Understand when additional assessment or referral is appropriate.
Select suitable splint designs for appropriate indications.
Understand the principles of splint adjustment and review.
The practical experience: Structured clinical assessment, paired examinations and individual practical splint exercises.
